- Public schools offer lunch. What does this cost in your area? How many students receive free or subsidized lunch? Each child has the right to eat or refuse to eat. Masses of food go in the garbage every day. Cost v. Waste, Health v. processed foods. What ideas work?

- rickace--very cool! I believe children become disenchanted with school because we do not engage their brain, attitudes, skills, abilities, at the deep emotional level. We skim and do not require that they excel at a top level.

- Vouchers can not fix what is wrong with the majority of our educational system. Education is not as important as war, wall street,. AS each local area works to fix their problems good things will happen. The federal government can not connect effectively with local children.

Treat others like you want to be treated is the motto I hear a lot and I practice myself. Although I'm far from perfect I always have my basic values and manners to fall back on. I don't have to think about it, it's the way I was raised and it's the way I raise my children.
